La comunità eritrea/etiope è presente in Italia da almeno mezzo secolo, integrata nel tessuto cittadino in maniera socialmente e culturalmente attiva. A partire dai documenti fotografici che costituiscono la memoria collettiva della comunità, il film raccoglie l’eredità delle storie personali, indagando le sfumature dell’identità, della migrazione e delle aspirazioni delle persone. Ne risulta una narrazione corale che porta alla luce una eredità postcoloniale fino ad oggi poco approfondita: dalle storie di vita quotidiana di chi vive in città da anni, di chi ci è nato, fino all’accoglienza dei profughi appena arrivati.
There has been an Eritrean/Ethiopian community in Italy for at least half a century, integrated into the urban fabric in a socially and culturally active way. The film brings together the heritage of personal stories and investigates the nuances of identity and migration. The result is a choral narration which brings to light a postcolonial heritage, little investigated until today: from the stories of daily life of those who have been living in the city for years, of those who were born there, to the reception of the newly arrived refugees.
